Hey, I’m Michael 👋
I've recently returned to the Surf Coast (my home), after a decade of working as a professional photographer in London and New York.
This time was an education in visual storytelling. I paid my rent by documenting immersive art installations, by following journalists into the homes of renowned musicians, and by capturing the strange and beautiful.
This taught me the technical precision and anticipation needed to capture a fleeting moment, skills I now apply when capturing the Surf Coast.
I shoot on a mix of medium format and 35mm film—for the unique texture, grain and depth—as well as digital when the moment demands speed and precision. Every single print I sell is printed onto gallery-quality paper with local printers, ensuring longevity, vibrancy, and a finish worthy of any wall.
The inspiration I gather from my years of travel, showcased in my International Collection, continually informs the way I capture the light and mood of the Surf Coast. I’ve seen the world, but I choose to focus my current artistic energy right here, exploring and sharing the stunning landscapes I get to call home.
